The cheeks put pressure on the poll via either of the two small rein rings. The loose fitting larger ring gives increased mouthing capabilities. The Waterford provides an excellent mouth with many joints, which collapse, giving the horse no chance of taking hold of the bit. A mild action. Stainless steel.
