Dressage day!

On Saturday, 25th Feb, I went to an unaffiliated Dressage with my horse Cedric! No matter how many times we go to the same place I still feel just as nervous on a show day! We had entered the Intro & the Prelim as he is riding 5 so I know we are working confidently at the intro level but not so much with the prelim as we still have some baby wobbles!

We went in to the intro mid storm, (which for the fair weather riders out there you’ll feel my pain😂😉) and Ced took it all in his stride. I came out slightly disappointed as our test felt tense and a little rushed at times but hey ho he’s only a baby and it’s all experience!

Next was the prelim and we struggle with the left rein canter so I was chuffed when he just popped into it and I came out a lot happier with the second test and was mega proud. Went to check my scores and was amazed to see he had won the intro with 73.91% and second with 72.92%! Off I went back to the trailer with a big beaming grin and gave fed lots of apples!

Those who know Cedric will know I struggle with loading issues. This has always been a problem since we bought him but recently we have found ways to get around it and every time we go out it’s getting easier and less of a battle so to top the day off I was over the moon that he loaded!!  Sometimes something can be so small to someone else but such a big achievement to yourself!
